L´HAM DE FOC is a group from Valencia that plays
contemporary folk music. Their first release picks up
principally mediterranean sounds which are mixed with
sounds from greece, the middle east, India, Australia
or the north of Europe in order to get a fusion that is
based in antique music. Considered as Dead Can Dance from
Spain they present a fresh, worked out folkmusic that
follows the present tendencies of the contemporanean folk.
In 1998 they were winners of the INJUVE (Instiute of youth)
reward in the category best newcomer act in folk music.
Surprising in their music is the extraordinary voice of
Mara Aranda which is accompanied by qualified instrumentalists.
